Licence plates in the Canadian Northwest Territories are actually shaped like polar bears, just like on the picture above. This shape was introduced in 1970, to celebrate the centennial of the territory.

Government of Nunavut was using similar plates with a bear on it, but in 2010 they changed licence plates to simple conventional rectangular design.
